this is Lucky our eldest son! Corgi/chihuahua mix. my husband & I rescued him from an animal shelter 14yrs ago this coming Aug. 19. He was very skinny & bony before. It was his last day that day in the shelter before he goes to doggie heaven. Shelter was over crowded. We learned about this after we officially adopted him. Paperworks sign & paid for. That's why we call him Lucky! Photos shown are from his 14th doggie bday party. Yes, we have a dog party for him & he had cake w/ his friends.

jayshapiro @faflene thank you. I read it everyday & it brought tears to my eyes. I always asked my self, what if we were not there to adopt a dog? it's a blessing huge blessing. I wished I can adopt all the dogs in the shelter. It breaks my heart seeing them there.

jayshapiro @faflene that is so sweet! Our next door neighbor has a cat name Oliver. Him & lucky gets a long pretty well. Oliver comes over everyday & sleep in our patio furniture while lucky is taking a nap In his bed my husband placed in the center if our backyard. it's soo cute!

jayshapiro @tay57 I bet he will! my husband says it took about 20mins for the decorator to do the happy birthday Lucky! So tiny letters that she has to do it really slow. Lucky had 15-18 4legged friends visitor in my backyard. He loves to entertain!

kaleyheider I love your puppy story! I volunteer at an animal shelter and it always breaks my heart when the healthy puppy's are adopted quick and the other ones take longer, but it's so heartwarming when they do get good homes!!

People - MICROCHIP your pets and remember that your local shelter will always take any towels and blankets your guests will no longer use. These little friends understand everything and they deserve to be treated with love and respect. This post is wonderful!

I have convinced a lot of my friends to rescue than buying & gladly they did. We microchip our little fur baby the very first day we adopted him. He is well loved & spoiled. Lol
