In the last week, I have had to pay over $10 extra for packages I received that didn't have enough to cover the weight. I did not realize it is up to the seller to cover the overages. I received an email response from Poshmark saying that is the case. If I had receipts, they would refund me but I only wrote the checks out to my postman or the boxes would have been sent back. So FYI- it is the SELLERS responsibility to pay overages.

andyb74 @hipchick thanks, for the FYI, I posted a note in my closet, saying, that I can do bundles, but with my prices being so low, couldn't afford it, if it goes, over, or I'll be forced to up my prices. I won't make anything if I don't do one or the other. My post office hasn't ever charged me, luckily, but, I had 3 go over last week, all were understanding, luckily, but, one ordered more and I payed the shipping fees to compensate. What sucks is, they reduced the costs by a penny and took a lb. away! We need to start a petition, on that! Just my opinion, lol!😘😘😘

hipchick @andyb74 I totally agree. What I didn't post here was the email I sent them saying how much their new shipping policy sucks! @jessvk is my inspiration for that! We need to do something about it. It's greed at its finest even tho we already give them 20%!! Makes Paypal look like the best option, against the rules or not! @k3ndramari3 I didn't know either. I just wanted to post this so people did get it. I've seen people refuse to bundle anymore and didn't understand why but now I do! Both of my purchases that I paid the extra on were footwear. So now we can't even sell a single pair of shoes or boots without getting overages anymore. Sux!

andyb74 @hipchick AMEN TO THAT SISTER! YOU GET READY, AND ENOUGH THAT WANT TOO, WE'LL DO THAT PETITION! WITH ALL THE NAMES, THAT WANT AND NEED IT CHANGED BACK! The bad thing is, I guess I'm going to ask each purchaser if their p. o. Charges the extra upfront, almost all my purchases I've made have a reg. label, and are overweight, so you just don't know who or where they get overcharged. Some do, some don't!😘😘😘

jessvk It is the seller who needs to be aware and not just drop pkg off. A good seller needs to ensure that the package has proper postage. I still bundle, and if I know it is going to be more, I would ask the buyer to send the additional postage via PayPal. Not right to increase price if bundle (as Posh told me to do) because then they are also making 20% on top of shipping. I spend a good amount of time ensuring all my pkgs are wrapped nicely and don't just throw stuff in a box. I invested a whole $15 in a scale from Amazon, but I STILL hand deliver my packages!! If I buy something I have to clean, or is just thrown in a box, or heaven forbid I was asked to pay additional shipping on, I won't buy from that seller again, it tells me they really don't care. Aside from that though, unless we all keep sending emails, I've been sending a couple a week, nothing will change. We ALL need to stand together on this issue!!

andyb74 @hipchick, oh by the way, I've finally gotten damaged goods, luckily got a partial credit on the first, the other was today, I got 9 items for $20, which, i thought was a great deal, and ordered from this person, the other day, and it was a good deal and order, so wasnt expecting this, at all.seven were damaged, 2 were horribly, faded, 1 had bad stains in several areas, I had a missing button that left a sm. hole, the other 3 had holes in them! I ended up with 2 shirts worth no more than $3 a piece. That's the pits! I hate it too, cause the girl is super sweet, so, I'm just going to let Poshmark handle it, I'm to broke to pay $20 for that, no doubt, and couldn't except if I was rich, lol!😘😘

hipchick @jessvk I really appreciate your advice. I've been a total mess for months now due to three hip surgeries (and I'm only 38!). I used to be much more conscientious about my packaging and hand delivering to the PO but I can't anymore since I can't drive. I still sell quality items or at the very least report when there is any damage but I've focused more in getting things out that the pretty factor! I've paid for extra shipping when I know it will be over but it can be a crap shoot for me at times given my current state. In any case, I mostly don't want poshers to blame each other but actually put it where it should go, on Posh. They claimed their new shipping was to lower costs for our benefit but it only made it worse, as you've said, and just to save one penny. It's just frustrating. If I had a smarter brain in my head I would create a normal people app that caters to the common person!

jessvk @andyb74 I got my first last week too, torn seams, a "hi-low" skirt that was just a regular skirt cut, unevenly and not hemmed! Watch for the Posh return email, they only give you 48 hours to do it!!

andyb74 @jessvk I know, I did it right away, she just asked about it, she's so, sweet, and I felt so bad, but how do you accept, I don't have that kind of money to blow, right now, I had no choice, we all make mistakes, but 7 out of nine, leads me to wonder, some holes were small, and could've been missed, the stained one, was way noticeable instantly, I've learned from my first, experience, to look it over, extremely well, in the past, on a pr. Of jeans, I went to wear the other day, their were grass stains all over the back of a leg, never noticed until way to late, so, you've got to be careful, no doubt!😘

jessvk I feel your pain Hun. 5 yrs ago, at 38, I had my first of 3 back surgeries. I had so many personal tragedies over the following 3 years I didn't think I'd get through it at times. My mother passed away, my husband walked away from me and our children, leaving us with no support. I lost the house, had to put my dog down, so much over that year the depression was horrible!! You just do what you can girl. I really suggest you get a scale, get creative in packaging. Have your friends save bubble wrap and the new air pocket cushions that people are using, and box weight is so important too. Keeping you in my thoughts girl. 💋💋💐💐💐💋💋

jessvk @andyb74 You have to think, nice as they are, would you send out stuff like that?? I cannot stand when I get clothes that smell like someone's perfume, or when people say some spots but they will probably come off with a little cleaning ...then do it please!!! I have so many pet peeves lol!! I keep a list of great sellers and try to stick to them!!🌟🌟

hipchick @jessvk Wow! You really went thru it!!! I'm so sorry. I suppose surviving all that makes you so strong but who needs that test!?! I've had two spinal fusions as well. It's so frustrating. I feel blessed though to have a husband who somehow sticks it out with me. It's not easy on him tho, I'm sure. Lets all hope for much much years to come!!!

jessvk I have two great kids still at home, a great boyfriend who takes my packages to PO, two great kids that are super successful out on their own and they make me proud. I have accepted my future now, and focus on the good, like the great friends I have, and even more I've met here, but most of all, I have two 15 yr old daughters that have their mom 24/7, and life is good!!

desirea
desirea @hipchick but don't posh pay the shipping for us? I donno! When ever I sold something and the shipping label wasn't enough posh paid! The heaviest I've had was 4lbs, though! Are you saying that they don't pay overweight of 2lbs?
Apr 11Reply
hipchick
hipchick @desirea Hey girl! No, we pay posh $7 for shipping whenever we buy something in addition to 20% of whatever we sell. The shipping label they give us only covers for up to two pounds and then we have to pay even more if its heavier. The seller is supposed to pay that extra but if they don't, the post office will make the buyer pay or send the package back. It's not fair!! Sometimes it just makes sense to live with it but sometimes I get really mad because they're already banking so much cash off us!!

jabr
jabr I agree with u @hipchick I sent out a package the other day n the postal office failed to let me know that it was over weight so the buyer pick up her package from her PO n had to pay 3.50 even though it was only 2 lbs n 3 oz now tell me that's not crazy !!
