Signed: R. Wilcox canvas size: 6inch by 11.5 inch Oil Painting Original hand painted, one of a kind, beautiful art piece with an amazing thick baroque style frame. I've called the framing shop pictured and after a nice informative chat with the late owners daughter, discovered I've a gem! Artist Info:Robert Allen Wilcox (1903-1977), Listed Artist known for figure, landscape, still life painting, illustration, commercial art. He was born in Chicago and moved to Michigan City, Indiana with his parents when he was nine.  He attended Elston Senior High School.  While there his artistic trends - he always liked to draw - brought him in contact with August Krueger who offered him a job in his sign shop and helped him to learn the sign craft. Wilcox graduated from high school in 1922 and continued in the sign shop for two years. In 1924 he began his studies at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.
