Made of thick, durable ABS plastic piping, built in the USA and filled with mylar cardboard tube (reusable), white paper liner & reusable black plug. Screw into a post or wall and the bee house is ready to go! (Screw included). Tips for Bee Care: Mason bees that select this nesting house will begin laying eggs and building mud walls within the tubes to separate each egg. Once the developed bees hatch they will chew through the mud cells to freedom. -Place nesting house where they will get early morning sun, facing south, east or west if it is your sunniest wall. Heat is important for the developing eggs! -Do not move the nester or disturb the bees once eggs are laid, until after cool weather (October). If you must, do so VERY carefully. -Store bees in a shed or detached garage for best protection over winter. 38F is the ideal hibernation temperature. -Place the bees back outside early spring. The bees remain in a state of torpor until temperatures rise to 50F for a couple of days. -Provide 6x more new nesting holes than the previous year for optimal colony growth.
