Recently I received several questions regarding how to check for Prada authenticity. I put together these few easy to check items to help. There’s obviously several other details to support authenticity, but these are steadfast rules for all Prada items. Also the patchwork style has always turned out to be a replica in my experience. I suspect Prada never even produced anything like that. Protect yourselves! Love you guys check comments for more info.

I know I didn’t mention the numbers inside the bag. I generally remove serial numbers from all my designer bags, especially Chanel. They get sticky over time, plus serial numbers are often faked too. I think it’s important to rely on the craftsmanship of the item if possible.

I have been studying authentication with a program that is taught be people from each design house. I’ve been told by several Poshers my info is wrong because they googled it. Buyer beware

Do not allow someone to sway your decision regarding authenticity because they looked it up online. I’ve made that mistake in the distant past. I’ve even been given incorrect information at the designers shop. Not all salespeople are well informed. It’s what pushed me into learning to be an authenticator.

@mynahshine. First I would like to offer my condolences on the lost of your mother. Thank you for the authentication tip for Prada. Secondly, if I can't find a serial number on an old gucci and chanel wallet, does that indicate off the top that it is fake?

@days_delights I haven’t studied Gucci but Chanel is not a deal breaker. Stitch count 10 or more to the inch. There’s tons of great articles online to help with tips. I cut the serial numbers out of my Chanel bags. They get sticky.

@days_delights I know some older single flap have a serial number on the snap closer. Kind of rare & not everyone knows.

@mynahshine. Thanks. I checked the snap it says, "Victory Kook P.K.3940" I don't think it's authentic.😞

i just researched Victory Hook & it says these are associated with Vintage Channel from the 60's & 70's. What do u think? This wallet is in too excellent condition to be vintage.

Thanks to you, I am further researching ; found a company who claims to authenticate for $8 w/email message(certificate is extra). I also read that the right "C" overlaps at the top only over the left "C" & the left "C" overlaps at the bottom over the right "C". My wallet emblem does this. I just don't know if these two makes my wallet real. I will pay to authenticate. Others on line recommended the co.

@days_delights if the price is right I would risk it. It sounds right to me. It’s hard without holding it, but I’ve bought 3 authentic Chanel bags for under $12 because people don’t know. I bought a Prada bag for $15 that is authentic as well. Sometimes it’s worth the risk.
