Porcelain box hand painted in Anna Weatherley's studio in Budapest, Hungary. The design is inspired by Italian artist Giovanna Garzoni's painting of 1620, Melon on a Plate with Grapes and a Snail. The box has a gold border decoration, is signed by the painter, and was designed by Anna Weatherley, who has been designing and producing hand-painted porcelain in Hungary for 26 years. Her porcelain designs are sold to 400 luxury, high-end exclusive retailers in the United States, Europe, and Japan. According to the designer's website, this is a one of a kind treasure. Measures 8 inches long by five and a half inches wide by two and an half inches high. The notation on the bottom of the box states that it was painted in memory of Nina Hyde, the Washington Post fashion editor who became a pacesetter in the fields of style and fashion before she passed away in 1990.
