Whitehurst Grasshopper Hand Blown Fantasy Glass Ornament 5.75" Boxed Vtg Imports

This is a rare Whitehurst Imports Grasshopper fantasy glass ornament, item #42011, measuring approximately 5.75 inches long and including the original Whitehurst box. Featuring a vibrant iridescent green segmented body, large faceted red glass eyes, long sculpted wings, and heavy gold and green glitter detailing, this is an exceptional example of Polish hand-blown art glass. Whitehurst Imports was known for importing high-end, handcrafted ornaments from Poland and Eastern Europe for specialty gift and holiday décor shops during the late 1990s to early 2000s. Their fantasy insect designs were produced in very limited quantities due to the complexity and fragility of the pieces, making intact examples with boxes highly collectible today. Each ornament was individually hand-blown and hand-painted, making every example unique. This piece is fully intact with no damage and displays beautifully. The original Whitehurst box significantly enhances collectability and value. Original box shows shelf scuffs and tears from life on the shelf.
